Born on 9th October 1968 in Campo San Martino, province of Padua, his musical journey began as a self-taught pianist at the tender age of nine. Captivated by the allure of melodic music and polyphony, he delved into the compositional intricacies, immersing himself in the rich tapestry of European classicism and drawing continuous inspiration for his own compositions. Despite not having formal academic training from a conservatory, his passion for composition and improvisation became his most authentic and compelling forms of expression, as he embarked on a quest for harmonious arrangements that often came intuitively. In 1988, he ventured into the world of musical publication with Edizioni Paoline, sharing numerous piano and organ compositions, choral songs, and polyphonic pieces. In 1999, he presented the musical "The Road to Success," crafted for the theatre company Giovani Musical. Simultaneously, he developed a profound love for musical improvisation in theatrical readings, honing his compositional techniques that would soon redefine his piano performances for the public. In 2008, he introduced himself to theatres as the sole protagonist, assuming roles as composer, performer, and storyteller in the mesmerizing show concert, "The Piano Listens to You." Driven by a spirited combination of provocation and innovation, since 2009, Paolo Zanarella, armed with his patented mechanical invention, has taken the half-tailed piano beyond the confines of traditional entertainment settings. Thus, "Il Pianista Fuori Posto" or "The Pianist Out of Place" was born, transporting his enchanting performances to unimaginable locations. With his distinctive touch, even the most unconventional corners of small towns or bustling cities transform into vibrant theatres. This adventurous endeavour marks a new chapter in his personal, social, and musical history, leaving an indelible mark on all who witness his remarkable talent.
