Sometimes what stands between us and our beauty is only a layer made of fears, memories, or things we've carried for too long. They move so close that they begin to fill the entire frame, convincing us they're all there is to see. But proximity is not the same as importance. Step back, and the picture changes. The flowers were never waiting for the thorns to disappear. They had been blooming all along. It was only our focus that had forgotten the rest of the frame. Sometimes the problem isn't what's in front of us. It's mistaking what's closest for the whole picture.
