Drift

In the suspension between sleep and water, the human steps out of the role of the controller, and enters a state of release, where falling is not a sudden event but an inner experience, a gentle movement toward a layer of the self that reveals itself only in the weightlessness of dream. “Drift” is an attempt to capture the moment in which a person, not before the world but before themselves, surrenders to calm. In the girl’s dream, the fish embody acceptance and safety, signs of entering the subconscious, where falling is not a threat but a quiet passage toward the hidden parts of existence, the place where release occurs. This dream is a physical painting created with (pencil, colored pencil, and oil thinner) on graph paper, sized 15.30 × 23 cm.
