The Weight of Silence
by Nika
Painted in acrylic on canvas, this expressionist piece explores themes of solitude and silent resilience. A woman, her face tinted in deep blue , symbolic of dreams, sorrow, or memory , sits quietly, surrounded by dry, tree-like forms. These abstract figures stand like silent witnesses or barriers, shaping a space that feels more like a cage than a forest. With bold, layered brushstrokes and a rich, moody palette, the artist draws from expressionism and collage-inspired texture to evoke an emotional landscape rather than a literal one. This is not just a portrait , it is a quiet protest. A story of the unheard. A silence that carries the weight of too many forgotten voices.
