Loyalty Has No Goodbye

This work is about something that can sometimes be rarer than love itself: loyalty. In real life, we lose people along the way. Some leave, some are forgotten, and some memories slowly fade beneath the weight of time. Yet there are those who understand the meaning of staying in a completely different way. Loyalty means staying when there is nothing left to gain. It means that someone’s absence is not enough to make you forget them. Perhaps the greatest form of love is not having someone beside you forever, but keeping a place for them in your heart, even after they are gone. Because sometimes, love doesn’t know how to leave. It only knows how to wait. The Poem & Music By Me At dawn, a girl set out to school, her dog by her side, They walked the quiet streets, by each other's side On the way, her coughing wouldn't cease, Every breath a little harder, still she walked in peace. She tied his leash and whispered, “Stay right here,” She walked away; his eyes suggested, “I’ll wait, my dear.” Inside the classroom, breathing became a heavy fight, The color left her little face, her last flame lost its light. The teacher came, the children gathered all around, They shook her gently, she didn't make a sound. The camera left her eyes, turning toward the street, The dog was still waiting, at the door he knew she’d meet. They brought flowers and candles, placed her picture there, Yet still the dog remained, waiting through the air. Years passed, yet there he stayed, exhausted, still in wait, Neither winter stole his sleep, nor autumn made him stray. So they built beside the school a monument to keep her story alive, A symbol of undying love and loyalty that would survive.
