A Rumor Called Love

collaboration between Me & Eli Oil Painting on the canvas —> Eli Poem / Music & Animation—> Me In a world where people speak of love, promise to stay, and dream of a shared tomorrow, it can be difficult to know which words come from the heart and which are spoken simply to deceive. We grow up listening to love stories. We learn to believe in love, to wait for it, and sometimes to hold on so tightly to its promises that we forget people are not always who they pretend to be. In real life, some people come to stay, while others stay only as long as there is something left for them to take. Some promises were never meant to become reality, and sometimes, all that remains after a thousand dreams is a goodbye. Perhaps love is not a rumor. Perhaps we have spoken about it so much that we no longer recognize it when it stands right in front of us. And perhaps the question is not whether love exists, but how many of us have truly experienced it, and how many have simply believed in a story someone else told us. Rumor has it that love is just a rumor. Do you still believe in it? Poem & Music By Me Mirabel once lived in silence deep, With tears and sorrows she would keep. The moon smiled down from skies above, She dreamed of someone she could love. Then Ember came with words and lies, With flowers, smiles, and charming eyes. Her heart beat fast, her soul took flight, She thought she’d found her love that night. She gave her eyes so he could see, And planted love where none should be. He saw the world in colors bright, Then left her lost in endless night. The moon returned, her faithful friend, A gentle light until the end. She held the moon within her hands, And smiled as light filled all her lands.
