Snow's Lament
by PanteaAEW
In the heart of a snow-covered desert, a lone angel walked. Her wings were no longer filled with light; instead, patches of ice and dust clung to them. Once, she had been a messenger of hope, but now, in the shadow of the trees—where the wind twisted through the branches like an endless lament—she hid her pain. Long ago, on the threshold of a dream, someone had promised to return; a promise never kept. Every day, the angel stood at the border between waking and dreaming, waiting for a sign, a voice, a glimmer of light. The wind came from far away, whispering in her ear, yet its words were nothing but the echo of her own sorrow. She understood then that the forest, the snow, and the wind were all mirrors of her soul. And perhaps, the only path to freedom was to take flight again—even if her wings were wounded and heavy. The poem was originally written by me in Persian, then translated into Russian, and the music was composed by me as well. In the shadow of the trees, pain lives Where tears look down into the snow It’s cold, and my heart groans At the edge of a dream, I wait Oh, do you hear, the wind calls, my sorrow Oh, do you hear, the wind calls, only mine
