Grounded In My Truth

Grounded in My Truth Created for the ROOTED open call, Grounded in My Truth is a mixed-media digital collage about becoming impossible to uproot. The figure rises from a massive root system, surrounded by rockets, records, protest signs, television glow, city fragments, torn paper, and the beautiful noise of culture in motion. The world around her is fast, fractured, and reaching for her attention. But she is not leaving herself. The roots are memory, lineage, intuition, grief, rhythm, survival, and the unseen architecture beneath identity. They are proof of what has been endured, inherited, questioned, loved, lost, and reclaimed. This piece also carries a chorus: Rooted in my soul. Grounded in my truth. Rooted for flow. Not a full song yet, but an intentional melody. A small chant. A return point. The kind of line that keeps circling back because some truths are not meant to be explained once. They are meant to be sung until the body remembers. Grounded in My Truth is about the moment you stop negotiating with the noise and remember your own ground.
