Nature that no longer breathes because of us

Nature that no longer breathes because of us

by Alireza Akhlaghi

A flowing river, a lovely and still green nature even in winter, yet marked by the remnants left behind by the follies of humankind. During a trip I took to the city of Soume’eh Sara in northern Iran, I went to a forested area to take photographs. The place was truly beautiful, but everywhere I looked I found plastic, trash, and the traces of human stupidity. It was deeply upsetting that I could not find a single spot to photograph without some sign of garbage. I look at this photo and I still hold on to the hope that one day I will no longer have to see such a thing. #OpeNEditioN Collection / 33/111 02/16/2013 / Somehsara, Iran
