Bad Read

They said they knew us. Ran the scan, pulled the data, mapped the ridges of everything we are and called it understanding. But the read was bad. The signal clean, the picture wrong. All that watching, all that light through a lens we didn't choose, and still they missed us. We are not the sum of what we clicked. Not the pattern, not the profile, not the ghost they built from everything we left behind. They pressed their thumb down hard. Thought they had us. Bad read. This collection began with a single drawing. I fed it into Midjourney to see what it might become, what variations could emerge from one original design. From the outputs I selected the pieces that resonated, then returned to them by hand, correcting, redrawing, finishing. What you see is the result of three things in conversation: traditional art, digital art, and AI.
