Marjorie

by Elsewhere

Marjorie was my closest friend when we were young. We spent long afternoons wandering through the fields, making up stories about strangers and promising we'd never grow apart. I remember her laugh, the little house where she lived, and the summer she suddenly disappeared from my life. Or perhaps none of it ever happened. Maybe Marjorie, like the memories I have of her, was nothing more than a story I made up.
