Lion

You can claim Lion for your collection. It is the fifth piece from the Lighten up after the dark animals editions. The lion is a predator. The size and mane of the male give the animal an imposing appearance, making the lion known in large parts of the world as the king of beasts. Of all the cats, only the tiger is larger. The lion is the only feline that has a social rather than a solitary lifestyle. The group usually has a fixed territory. The lion is inactive for most of the day. Sometimes it rests in the shade for up to twenty hours a day and is only active to hunt. The lion hunts alone, in pairs or in larger groups. When a large prey is caught, the hierarchy within a lion group becomes visible. The adult males may eat first. When they have finished eating, the lionesses and the cubs can have the leftovers. When the leader of a group is challenged by one or more wandering males, he will fight to remain the leader. Sometimes they are also challenged by male cubs who have grown up. Dominant lions and challengers are usually between five and ten years old. The loser must leave the group and the winner becomes or remains the leader.
