The Window

The Window

by LeslieASpurlock

Snow-veined mountains, still and blue, cradling a fjord of darker hue, framed in amber, warm and round— a small world holding a bigger one. Clouds unravel, thin to light, spilling silver on the height, while somewhere far below the glass the north keeps waiting, hushed and vast. I press my forehead to the seam, half in the window, half in dream, watching Tromsø rise to meet a sky still learning how to break.
