The Morrow between Us
by Maria Ozer
This work depicts the meeting of two forces - the feminine and the masculine. Beneath her hair shines the moon, behind his head glows the sun. She holds the key, for only she can unlock the door in his chest - a symbol of trust, intimacy, and access to the hidden soul. Upon her chest blooms a flower, a sign of vulnerability and the courage to be open. The painting has no single top or bottom: it can be turned either way, leaving uncertain who is truly inverted. This ambiguity creates a sense of mirror-like duality, as if each figure reflects the other and the boundary between them dissolves. The title “the mirror between us” does not refer to a literal mirror, but to an invisible threshold that both divides and unites - where two beings search for themselves in one another, becoming each other’s reflection. Physical drawing and shipping are included. Ink and pencil on paper 42 x 30 cm.
