i am everything but peace, you are everything but pain

this is a collage i made about my experience with psychosis, i had a minor episode the week before which caused severe emotional pain, i lied down on my bed as the noise my neighbours made in the apartment block that evening exceeded what would be considered acceptable in close living quarters, either enjoying socialising on the weekend or discussing the recent resignation of a government minister, something unheard of in contemporary india, the loudness of their discussion and laughter were unbearable to me and made me fear for my well being, i could not make out what they were saying but i felt they were talking about me and laughing at my condition, i mentioned to someone what i was experiencing over the phone and heard someone say "it's because of the sound" out loud and then heard a bunch of people laughing, it was jarring, unnerving and extremely inconsiderate and disturbing, i cried a lot that night and struggled a lot with the experience, i decided to make art with the pain which is what this is a manifestation of the name of the artwork represents the peace that one with this condition lacks and what the kindness that another who you can talk about the condition with, without misinterpretation or judgement, can do in terms of relieving the pain it was so difficult making the artwork and even writing this description so i will end it with the note mentioned on the artwork and not go into further description about the details of the artwork itself "living with a brain disorder is very difficult but it makes you understand how difficult life can be for others as well and makes one develop a deeper sense of empathy about the problems people face that cause them the deepest pain"
