I Learned to Belong to Myself

For a long time, I kept trying to find myself in someone else’s presence. I questioned my feelings, my choices, and even the person I had become. Somewhere along the way, I forgot what it felt like to simply exist as myself. When everything was finally over, there was no one left to convince, no one left to explain myself to. There was only me, trying to remember who I was before all of it. Maybe finding myself again was never about becoming someone new. Maybe it was about coming back to the person I had slowly left behind.
