Medusa’s Butterfly Collection

Medusa was made a monster by Athena for a crime that wasn’t hers, she was assaulted by Poseidon on sacred ground and punished for it. The butterflies did nothing wrong except to look. Curiosity turned them into stones. That’s what mythology does. It doesn’t resolve things; it shows us raw reality. A tiny flaw can become an avalanche. A person’s crime becomes another person’s curse. We are all built of cracks. Sometimes it takes almost nothing to turn a butterfly into a monster. Digital Painting
