December 23, 2023. Spending the first Christmas without Dad. On a private resort, this melancholy scene of the sunset with a solitary tree calls to me. The tree, a symbol of resilience, stands alone, mirroring the isolation of grief, its roots submerged in sorrow. Its branches reach out, grasping for connection, only to find the cold embrace of the water - a reflection of the emptiness I still feel. Others may feel at peace with this scene, but I feel a profound loneliness amidst my grief.
