Sisters of the sea

by claireujma

Long long ago a family with their two young daughters were trapped in the treacherous waters surrounding a mysterious volcanic island in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. After a terrific storm their boat broke into two and the girls were parted from their parents. Days, weeks and months went by but the girls were lost to the Ocean. Rumour has it that every year their ghosts appear on the beach to warn others of their fate. This image was captured on Reynisfjara Beach in Iceland in July 2021 with a Mavic Pro 2 at an altitude of 120 metres. It was then modified using layers created with AI by Joanne Enders. This is our collaboration for the #spookytunas event and also a statement to warn all people of the incredibly dangerous waters of this beach which unfortunately has many deaths every year.
