Narcissus

The myth of Narcissus, from ancient Greek mythology, tells the story of a handsome man who ignored his admirers. One day, while drinking from a pond, Narcissus saw his reflection in the water and fell in love with it. He jumped into the water to embrace his reflection and eventually drowned. As a consequence, the gods transformed him into a narcissus flower, also known as a daffodil. This way, he would always grow by the water and see himself reflected in it. This allegory represents the dangers of vanity, self-love, and being consumed by one's own image. It serves as a warning against excessive self-absorption and the inability to see beyond one's own reflection. I made this animation in photoshop and aftereffects.
