Obsessive-compulsive disorder

The art was created for the “ZM NATION” project, where 12 artists depicted 12 mental disorders, in support of the theme of mental health! The painting depicts a young girl sitting in front of a chessboard. She does not arrange the pieces according to the rules of the game, but rather by size and color. Each piece must be exactly the same as its neighboring piece, with the colors alternating. This is clearly not the rules of chess, but for this girl, it is the only way to cope with her obsessive-compulsive disorder. In her mind, everything must be perfect and symmetrical, and she continues to arrange the pieces until she reaches her goal. The ropes around the girl's neck are choking her just as much as her disorder's symptoms. To some, it may seem like OCD is not the worst disease. But it wears people out, turning their lives into hell, leaving them without strength or joy. The light in her chest is a symbol of the strength that lies within everyone who has faced a mental disorder. It's hard, excruciatingly hard, but such people live and try to find joy in small things, even clinging to a phantom hope. This is true inner strength.
