Woman outside the frame!
by Hadis
The woman steps out of the gilded frame of paradise, her bare feet crossing the threshold into the unknown. Her once-luminous form is now touched by shadows, but she remains bold, defiant. Next to her, an apple—bitten and gleaming in the half-light—sends ripples through the air, as if the very act has fractured the serenity of heaven. She gazes forward, not with regret, but with a quiet understanding, as though she has unlocked a truth she was never meant to know. Behind her, the frame of paradise shimmers with a cold, unreachable beauty, a place now distant though it remains within sight. But it is not the paradise within the frame that draws the eye—it is the masks. They hover in the air just beyond the woman’s reach, their hollow eyes fixed upon her. Some appear judgmental, others curious, as though they once wore human faces, now frozen in time, watching her fall, her choice, her rebellion. The masks, faceless yet full of expression, seem to be the keepers of paradise’s secrets, reminders of those who once walked her path, perhaps who still live behind their unblinking stares. They say nothing, but their silence is louder than words—a warning, a question, or maybe even envy for the one who dared to taste what they could not. The woman stands between worlds, with paradise behind her and the gaze of the unknown ahead. She is no longer bound by the frame, no longer bound by rules, yet the price of that freedom weighs heavily in the air. Her bitten apple, a symbol of her choice, glows like a stolen fragment of Eden, its sweetness mixed with the bitter taste of consequence.
