Leaving behind a world I knew so well Was a journey that cast a heavy spell A life anew with hopes so high Yet the tears in my eyes just wouldn't dry Days of joy and nights of bliss All gone now with a simple twist A new place, a new life to lead But leaving behind a piece of my creed Still I hold on to a glimmer of hope That someday, my heart will learn to cope And happiness will find its way back to me Like it once did, so abundantly For the future holds promises and dreams And life is not always what it seems So, I'll keep the hope alive, and my heart aglow And cherish the memories of my home, sweet home.
