Divine Justice

by Bangkok Mike

“And I saw a friend of mine the other day, And he told me that my eyes were gleaming. And I said that I had been away, and he knew, oh he knew the Depths I was meaning. And it felt so good, to see His face, All the comfort invested in my soul. Oh to feel the warmth of smile, When He said, I’m happy to have you home. Oh oh, I’m happy to have you home. Now Keep your Head up and Keep your heart strong” Lyrics from the song, Keep Your Head Up, by Ben Howard I was drawn to attempt a shot of this abandoned lot due to the mysterious way that the gathering storm clouds seemed to be opening right above it. As I was attempting to take a shot, the image was photobombed by a pigeon. I didn’t really notice it until back in my room and reviewing the photos. When I finally saw the image, it moved me spiritually. In the lyrics above, my old friend is God, and I’m the one who has been away, sometimes feeling far away from God. Even being angry with Him. Mostly because of the darkness, injustice, and evil violence I see rampaging around our planet. But this felt like a reminder from God to say, “hey, I’m still here, I see everything, keep the faith, and I will administer My Divine Justice in My own perfect timing…just as perfect as the timing of this rising phoenix pigeon.
