Streets of Bangkok - This Life

I crossed paths with this downtrodden alley cat during a walk in Bangkok away from the tourist areas. By the look in his eyes and his surroundings, it was obvious to me that his life is not easy. Looking more closely, I could see an open wound on his right side. Perhaps from recently defending his turf. Despite everything, he proudly sat there on his sidewalk perch, chin up, and wide eyes watching everything. Duty comes first, no excuses for being sick or lame. This cat was and is a survivor. I was inspired by his grit and determination. A favorite song came to mind… “This is the life, Everyone has to be somewhere, I am here. Testing a dream. The pressure of dreams is The killer of dreams. And it only gets harder. And it only gets harder. Time is the monster. All of us fight the same monster. To win. I scream when I breath. But, this is the life. This is the life. This is the life.” Lyrics to, The Life, by Wendy & Lisa November, 2023, Bangkok, Thailand iPhone 15 pro max image, raw setting.
