Lost Light
by Mitra✨_SGP
In this painting, a child holds a glowing light in the darkness of deep waters; as if this light is an inner brightness a small guide amid the turbulence of life. A light that does not come from outside, but shines from within; a light every human brings into the world in childhood bright, fearless, and needing no witness. Yet as we grow older, the waves of life, the shadows, fears, and pressures dim this light, sometimes hiding it, sometimes losing it, but never extinguishing it. This work is a reminder of the light we once carried in childhood, a light that may still shine in the depths of our being, if we choose to look at it again. Perhaps this painting is a memory of the lost light within us. A physical artwork created with pencil, colored pencil, and oil thinner on 29.5 × 35 cm cardboard.
