RJ012833 – The Road to Saldus

by romandrits

Excerpt from Robert Johnson’s Lost Diary: January 28, 1933 – Near Saldus, Latvia “The road ahead stretched like a ribbon of history, lined with ancient trees, their branches clawing at the grey sky. I walked along it, guitar in hand, the cold wind whispering of lives passed and forgotten. My fingers danced on the strings, not with ease but with purpose, conjuring blues that seemed to belong not just to me but to the souls who once wandered this land. Each note I played hung in the air like a question unanswered, echoing down this lonely path to a church in the distance—a beacon of something I could neither reach nor understand. But it called to me, just like the blues do, relentless in their pursuit of truth.”
