There is a forest that blooms only when the moon devours the sun. The Celestial Grove β a place where starlight seeps through the roots, and time folds itself into a silken cocoon. Once, at the heart of that Grove, lived the goddess Eclipso β keeper of the threshold between becoming and fading. It was whispered that when her gaze met yours, the truth of your light would be revealed: whether it rose from purity... Or smoldered from the embers of something far darker. One day, Eclipso chose to leave the Celestial Grove. She walked through fields of nettles, her hands aflame with stings. She waded through swamps, her feet heavy and cold. Her hair caught on the thorn-thick branches of the wildwood, leaving faint traces of blood upon her cheeks. It seemed the forest twisted upon itself, guiding her in endless circles. And when her strength was nearly spent, she found a narrow path that led to a place she thought she had never been. When she stepped beyond the trees, she entered a garden. It was breathtaking β blue hydrangeas blooming like fragments of the sky, juniper breathing its resinous scent, and an artificial brook whispering softly to itself. Yet the air was still β unnaturally so. No wind stirred the petals, no insect sang. The place felt painted rather than born, crafted by a hand that knew her every thought. Eclipso knelt beside the brook, and in its mirrored surface she saw not her weary, wounded self, but the one who had remained behind in the Grove β serene, radiant, her eyes alight with starlight. She reached out, and her fingers brushed the water. Ripples shivered across the reflection, as though time itself faltered between Β«thenΒ» and Β«nowΒ». From the depths came a voice β a whisper soft as the breath of the wind: β Why did you run, when the path was always within you? Eclipsoβs heart quivered: The garden was no place at all, but a memory. The brook β her own voice, calling her home. And in that moment, she knew β this path was never meant to lead her outward. It had always been guiding her back to herself. // P.S. A parable β that no matter how far we wander, no matter how many selves we try to become, what we love most deeply never leaves us. And when we stray from our true path, it clings to us like a crown of thorns, reminding us of who we are, and who we are yet to be. Β«EclipticaΒ» - The Point of Eclipse.
