100% goes to Wings of Hope/Friends of SJF to support Acelene and others like her. Acelene is resident at Wings of Hope in Haiti. Wings of Hope is a home for children and adults with physical and mental challenges. Acele is a quiet is a young woman with a lot of determination, just like her sister Wislene, who also lives at Wings of Hope. She uses a walker to move around and attends daily physical therapy sessions a Wings of Hope. She loves dancing, playing, drumming, making art and photography. Art has always been an essential way to show the residents the beauty of their country. And encouraging the residents to become artists themselves is a way to foster self-confidence in them. One of the art classes at Wings of Hope is a photography class. By learning to use a camera and exploring their world, the young photographers give an insight on life through their eyes. Seeing beauty in your culture and being able to add to that beauty with your talent and passion are important lessons learned by those served by Wings of Hope.
