Spider in the web 3
by Violet Bond
Orb spiders construct expansive webs that span between trees, resembling galaxies. Within these intricate, seemingly random webs, white egg sacs often dangle, sheltered beneath the protective care of the queen spiders. This piece reminded me of those complex structures, with a queen suspended in the centre of a masterpiece she crafted, a star in a galaxy. Part of the "Spider in the web" series. Made on Dalabon country in the Northern Territory, Australia. I pay my respect to the Traditional Owners of the land and their Elders, past, present and emerging.
