A Bad Case of Polka Dots

A Bad Case of Polka Dots

by Rikki Peters

About the Art: One in a handful of portraits/photographs of this theme. There will be at least two other open editions of models with random cases in the future! Growing up, one of my favorite stories to read and listen to was "A Bad Case of Stripes" by David Shannon and I never realized why until I started reading it to my preschool classes at the start of every year, but even while I did not understand the meaning of the book or what it would do for me in my later life of teenage years into adulthood, I would read it prior to the first day of school. What I have realized is though, it has taught me one of the greatest life lessons ever though, and it is to be yourself and not worry or stress about hat others think. A bit about the book: The story revolves around Camilla Cream, a girl about to have her first day of school, scared about what people would think and struggling to find a first day outfit. After missing the first day after coming down with a peculiar case of the stripes, she goes to school the next day and is forced face her fears. Of course there is more to the story, but I won't ruin it for you.
