Chapter2.Ep3: The Sea I Drowned In
by Faavidel
I had heard that long-distance relationships have their issues, and you might talk to someone for a long time and like each other, but when you finally meet, you could be disappointed. If it were the first time we were seeing each other with fresh eyes, if it were the first time I was seeing him in a romantic context, I would undoubtedly have felt doubt creeping in; but I didn’t feel that at all. I was also reassured by him. We had already passed our test, and it was clear that his gaze in those moments didn’t hide the attraction and pleasant feelings he had for me. With the confession he had made, it didn’t seem like he was experiencing any contradiction of that kind, and of course, the roots of our relationship weren’t of that nature at all. We knew each other well; but something had changed between us. He had a strange guard up; something was preventing him from getting close. I didn’t know what it was!
