Sunday Sunrise

„On a Sunday Morning“ Collection As with most of my algorithmic works, this piece was borne out of curiosity and exploration. My Largest-First Optimal Circle Packing algorithm works best with minimalist, flat designs, so for this themed collection I created a simple sunrise over the sea, with lots of interesting areas to fill in. The resulting ‚packed‘ work is then transferred from a simple rendering process in p5js over to threejs which allows me to treat all the circles as spheres and apply lighting, shadows and textures (clear sky and clouds).
