Joyful
by Jancarlo
My wife and I celebrated our 38th birthdays this month and I felt inspired to create this colorful turtle artwork to commemorate all of the moments we shared over the course of this past year. The highlights and vibrant elements of this piece embody the happiness and joyful moments we experienced. While the shadows and darker tones symbolize the many challenges, losses and setbacks we had to weather. And although those darker times were tough and impactful, they were greatly outweighed by the moments that filled our hearts with joy. Lastly, the turtle shell showcases many scratches and wear, which are symbolic of the marks that life leaves on us. Those marks are the ones that impart wisdom, build character and ultimately make us the unique and beautiful beings that we are.
