A moment of Earth and Sky
by Jinous
I had a dream. I was a little girl, it was night, and the city wore a velvet quiet like a sleeping theater. I wandered between the tall buildings that stretched their silhouettes into the stars, as if the skyline were a mouth yawning to swallow the moon. A clock hung from the air, its hands ticking backward, counting memories instead of minutes. I followed the sound of distant laughter that shimmered against brick and glass, a chorus of windows blinking in rhythm with my heartbeat. A cat whose eyes were two planets orbiting an invisible sun. It paused at a doorway that wasn’t a door but a mouth, and whispered, “Enter.” I did, stepping into a street that unfurled like a ribbon, each bend revealing a new sky—the color of a peach at midnight. In the town square, a girl with comet-brush hair painted the night with sighs of silver. Her painting opened a portal where I could hear the city’s quiet promises: to grow curious, to keep wonder like a secret pocket of light. I woke with the echo of that promise—and the night’s soft, impossible truth still glowing. Digital Painting Dimensions: 2362 X 3543 Size: 20 X 30 300 dpi 5.04 MB
