Jinous

I am an artist who works in the space where portraiture meets collage, color, and a little bit of beautiful chaos. My practice moves fluidly between colored pencil illustration, mixed-media painting, and paper collage, and my subjects are almost always women — caught mid-thought, mid-smile, or gazing somewhere I can't follow them. My work is guided by exuberance. I build layered, vibrant worlds from paint washes, splatters, cut paper, botanical motifs, butterflies, stamps, and found text.Color is my first language. I lean on warm oranges, reds, and pinks against cool blues and teals, and I'm drawn to the tension between polished pencil detail and the raw, textured edges of collage. My influences live in pop art, Persian visual culture, botanical illustration, and the folk art of handwriting every mark like it matters. I don't believe a portrait has to be calm to be intimate. My work is meant to feel like a person rather than a picture — a woman with her own weather, her own city, her own moon
